It would seem that some of you are forgetting we actually have rules against spam here. The SF Themes topic is becoming spam because some members are posting their character themes one at a time. Post them all in a single topic. Creating a topic for the sole purpose of spamming responses is also not okay. Don't respond to topics like the undertitle changes that have been resolved, to that end the staff should remember to lock said topics after solving them. If you want to be on the top posters that's great, but get there without boosting yourself with spam like that. You don't need to be in a Roleplay to get to top posters either, Dazo is at the top and he's not involved in one.

tl;dr Stop spamming the forums everyone.

So that's why the "the last person to respond to this topic wins" is deleted. I knew it would. I told you Josh! We'll stop.

Indeed, however keep in mind I am not opposed to topics that are discussions about something, so long as the responses are constructive and add to the conversation. That was just a random topic to promote posting.

To be fair, the Undertitle Topic did raise the question of how careful the staff is for official announcements, but so be it. To that end, if you want, Luns, you could transfer my spam announcement on SDA over to AKA if you want, suggesting I receive credit for it, since it's a lot more in depth over spamming rules and what qualifies as spam.

I agree with Valk on this one. Honestly we get carried away easily with this kind of thing, evident by today's blunder. Having the rules right there, and having a more strict anti-spam policy will keep us in check. I wonder, to prevent tiny useless posts (since we do have a character limit), why not have a character minimum?

So, I'm just going to remind people what spam is, because clearly, no one understands. Spam is classified as (found most of these on Valky's post about spam):

  • Posts that have nothing to do with the topic. This even means for important things like people who chose to post something in the shop that isn't buying something, or posting in a report that you are not involved with.
  • Posting separate threads for questions and suggestions. We have threads for them, you can find them in our help and suggestions forum.
  • Posts that do not contribute to the topic.
  • Posting two very similar comments
  • Double posting. Bumping threads after a 24 hour period can be okay depending on what you are bumping, sometimes it's not okay.
  • Having a conversation in a topic.
  • One or Two word posts

If you need me to specify on these, please do ask me to. I'll gladly do it. Just send me a PM. But also, I can't speak for Luna, but I'm not opposed to posting games. Some I am opposed to (like the count to 50 game or something like that), but others like corrupt-a-wish if you have heard of that, I quite personally like to read for entertainment. After all, isn't the point of posting games to raise the post count?

And volk, the character maximum for any forumotion forum is 60000 characters. I just installed a nifty javascript because it slightly acts like a word counter, but not really.

Either way, I think I need to lock this now.
