Coral Dragon
Recently, a new level 6 Synchro monster was revealed on the Organization. For those of you who haven't seen it, here it is:
This card has two effects, as you can see, both of which are pretty decent. A one for one destruction is never bad, especially when it can set up your Graveyard, and the ability to draw 1 allows you to keep your engine running. On top of that, it doesn't miss timing, meaning you can use this for a Synchro summon and still net yourself a draw. This works well in conjunction with its status as a tuner.
Now, this card has a huge amount of relevance behind what may seem to some an initially unsuspecting card. The first thing to make note of that is is a level 6 Synchro. This already makes the card enormously relevant, seeing as we don't exactly have many good level 6 Synchros in the game right now.The closest thing we have to a "staple" level 6 Synchro is Goyo Guardian, which hasn't been truly relevant for ages. This card fills this role wonderfully.
The second thing to make note of is its type and attribute, which are absolutely amazing. Its Dragon-type allows it to be used in conjunction with Debris Dragon. If this doesn't seem likely to any of you, remember Iron Chain Dragon used to be run in a plethora of Synchro decks just because of Debris Dragon, and this card is actually good. It's WATER attribute synergizes well with one, very relevant archetype: Mermails. That's right, folks, Mermails just got a replacement to Brionac, and although it isn't as good, it does what Mermails need. As if Mermails weren't already insanely good with their new Prince, this makes them even better.
Besides all that synergy, we can't forget about this card's potential in any Quasar deck. Before this, we had Accel Synchron to run for a high level Synchro tuner. This serves as a good alternative that, although it has inferior dumping powers, makes up for it by netting you an additional plus while also dealing with a potential problem card your opponent has.
All in all, the card seems like it has leagues of potential to make an impact on the game. Any thoughts or things you think I missed? Leave them in the responses below. And remember, happy dueling! ~
- Coral Dragon:
Coral Dragon
Level 6 WATER Dragon-Type Synchro Tuner Effect Monster
ATK 2400
DEF 500
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
The (2) effect of “Coral Dragon” can only be used once per turn.
(1) Once per turn: You can discard a card, then target a card your opponent controls; destroy that target.
(2) If this Synchro Summoned card is sent to the Graveyard: Draw 1 card.

Re: Coral Dragon
This card has HUGE potential in any Yang Zing deck, especially the Yang Zing Metalphosis build. I tested it out by running a single copy. Very amazing when I want to do a quick draw with Metalphosis Fusion or drawing with Yang Zing Path. I use a Draco variant in my YZ Metalphosis build, so being able to ditch my Dracoslayer gave me more access to utilize cards like Dinoster, which let me summon that dracoslayer back and go for even more plays. This card is insanely good.

i agree with this because it makes sense since yz focus more on synchro summoning and you can usually do a bunch of synchro summons in one turn. i think burning abyss could make some what use of this card.

Re: Coral Dragon
True, but it'll be hard to find a tuner that isn't BA that works without BA blowing themselves up unless you already have rhino warrior on the field. If you do fantastic.

Re: Coral Dragon
There's a Speedroid BA PK build that can do it easily. All you need is 3 Eye Dice and Rhino warrior and any BA.YoungX wrote:True, but it'll be hard to find a tuner that isn't BA that works without BA blowing themselves up unless you already have rhino warrior on the field. If you do fantastic.
