Deck Workshop : Ojamas

Post by Master Marcus on Fri Feb 12, 2016 3:56 am

This my friends is the first in most likely weekly series of deck profiles. So I thought I would start with something rather fun  Cool. Enjoys.

Now I start with the Decks Key Cards

Effect:
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 Level 2 Beast-Type monster from your Deck in face-down Defense Position, except "Baby Raccoon Ponpoko". You cannot Special Summon any monsters during the turn you activate this effect, except Beast-Type monsters.

Effect:
FLIP: Special Summon 1 Level 2 Beast-Type monster from your Deck, except "Baby Raccoon Tantan".

One of the decks key problems before the racoons came out was search ability for Ojama Blue who is the key searcher in the deck. With the raccoons savy abilitiy for summoning LvL2 Beast Type monsters this problems was just about eliminated. More possibilities are now their to get Ojama Blue as well as setting up other XYZ plays when you don't need Ojama Blue or can not get it.

Effect:
When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can add 2 "Ojama" cards from your Deck to your hand (this can include "Ojamuscle").

As I stated earlier. This is the decks key searcher. It pretty much sets up all the key Ojama portion of plays in the deck. So its key that you abuse this ability when needed and often.

Effect:
When this card is Normal Summoned, you can Special Summon up to 4 "Ojama" monsters from your hand in Attack Position.

The quick special summoner to get all the Ojamas on the field. Its an easy set up for Delta Hurricane and other xyz plays when you do't have hurricane.

Effect:
When this card is Normal Summoned, you can select 1 Level 2 or lower monster from your Graveyard, and Special Summon it in face-up Defense Position. That monster's effect(s) is negated.

This is the card sets up all the deck's synchro plays.

Effect:
2 Level 2 Beast-Type monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Special Summon 1 "Kagemusha Raccoon Token" (Beast-Type/EARTH/Level 1/ATK ?/DEF 0). (When Summoned, its ATK becomes equal to the current ATK of the monster on the field that has the highest ATK. Your choice, if tied.) While you control another Beast-Type monster, this card cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects.

You could say this is the deck's key boss monster. This is the card that gives Ojamas that big beater that they lack.

Effect:
Once per turn, you can send 1 "Ojama" card from your hand to the Graveyard to Special Summon 1 "Ojama" monster from your Graveyard. While you control a face-up "Ojama" monster, switch the original ATK and DEF of all monsters on the field. ("Ojama" can include "Ojamuscle".)

This card is one of the keys to the deck. Yes without this you can pull alot of good Ojama plays but utilizing this ability to its max makes things soo much easier.

Effect:
When this card is sent from the hand or the field to the Graveyard, add 1 each of "Ojama Green", "Ojama Yellow" and "Ojama Black" from your Deck to your hand.

This is your main monster searcher for the Ojama Trio. Most times this is combo'ed with Ojama country to get the trio.

Effect :
You can only activate this card while "Ojama Green", "Ojama Yellow" and "Ojama Black" are face-up on your side of the field. Destroy all cards on your opponent's side of the field.

This is the decks big ace in the hole sort of card. Usually when this card goes off unchained. You can pretty much call it a game.

This is my own current skeleton of the big booties of fury  Cool.

Pros
- Combos are very destructive
- Has a lot of otk and control potential
- Variety of options and ways in and out.

Cons
- Plays are very linear.
- If one part of the cycle is stopped its all stopped
- It takes so many resources to plus more than 2

The deck itself can set up a lot of high damage and almost otk plays like the previous Ojama's had. Only this deck isn't so Otk Reliant. Swarming is something that is given usually in all Ojama builds. I'm sure some of you are asking "Where is Ojama King and Ojama Knight for the old lockdown plays?" Here is the thing. They suck...Simple as that. The fusions now are a pretty much waste of space now since you have the Sandayus. Its become more sustainable to play Ojama since its come out and Ojama can now have more of a reliant field presence.
Before Sandayu came out the field spell was a critical thing to win. Now its more of an optional win with it out. You don't actually need it to win like you use to. Though it still plays a part in the deck's overall flow and consistency.

That is all I can say for now though if you have any questions or comments please leave them below o.o and I will answer them when I see them.

Suspect

Do you think Ojamas could work well with a Burgesstoma engine? Or something like that.

BTW, 5/7, could have been coded better.

My guess would be no because of the kind of set up that bourges need that ojama's cant provide. But I haven't tested it really so its not a definitive answer.
