[TAoB](Mid/High) Journey to the island 1

A man in his late 20s was standing in front of a window of a ship looking at the endless blue ocean in front of him. The man didn't seem very impressive, he wasn't tall or muscular. The colours of the clothes he wore were starting to fade and they looked somewhat stretched. The shirt he was wearing was very light blue, however it was clear it once had a much brighter color which had a print of multiple playing cards. Further more he wore normal jeans and a pair of normal shoes which noses were almost worn out. His light brown hair was messy like he just woke up and didn't bother doing anything about his hair. As the man was looking out of the window, the door behind him swung open with a loud screech. A man in a suit was the one who had opened the door and seemed to be the polar opposite to the one  looking out of the window. He was tall, muscular and and looked like he cared what people thought about him. The suit looked like it was made for this man which made him look even more impressive. His voice echoed throughout the room as he spoke, it was a deep somewhat hoarse voice.
"Hey Anthony, how long do you think you can just stay around here? You know that we'll be arriving shortly, if it weren't for me I'm positive you'd still be on the island."
The man turned around with a carefree smile on his face as if the words didn't phase him and sighed. "I know, I know. You don't have to keep reminding me every time you get the chance Dirk. What were you doing anyway, you also almost missed the boat. That's very unlike you." Anthony replied with a playful tone in his voice his voice was fairly neutral, almost no emotion that he didn't want to could be heard from his tone. Although he sometimes spoke a bit too fast and a syllable was lost, other than that there wasn't anything special about his voice.
"Yeah, that's right. However after noticing that you weren't on the ship 30 minutes before we were going to depart I decided to go looking for you, since knowing you the chance of you missing the boat was high. You might've defeated me in tournaments before, however your behavior outside the tournaments aren't anything but unprofessional." Dirk said with a sharp tone in his voice.
Anthony chuckled nervously "You've got a point there, however how could I stay focused while I was thinking about all the children who will go to this school?" He said with excitement in his voice.
Dirk started to calm down a bit and sighed. "I get where you're coming from, however you should REALLY mind the time." He took a quick glance at his watch. "Hmm. we're not scheduled to arrive for another 30 minutes." As soon as his sentence ended a sly grin appeared on his face and asked "Wanna play?"
"You still gotta ask?" Anthony replied without thinking in a playful tone. "So wanna play for real or just for fun?"
Dirk's grin grew wider. "You still gotta ask?" He said in a similar tone to Anthony.

"Well then, seeing how you challenged me, I'll begin. My turn. Draw! Hmm..." As soon as the duel began Anthony seemed to change, his personality and the vibe he had changed in a snap. From easy-going and lazy to completely focused and serious. "I set a monster and end my turn." Anthony's voice seemed deeper and could easily be heard throughout the entire room, due to the confidence that was behind the voice. He made a simple hand gesture at the end of his turn signifying Dirk could go.
Dirk looked at Anthony to see if he could read a bluff from his face but nothing was showing. "Okay then, my turn. Draw! It's best to have a strong start, and hope you've got nothing there. I normal summon witch's apprentice and activate Yami. My monster now has 1250 attack. Battle phase. My monster attacks your set one."
Anthony flipped the monster and grinned. "Too bad, Armail has 1300 defense. Take 50 damage."
Dirk's face was completely calm however he wasn't. 'A monster with 1300 defense, really?! I would've prefered a mystical elf over that." He sighed. "Well that's everything I can do for now. Your turn."
"Well then." Anthony said with an excited voice. "This is where things get interesting. Draw! I tribute my armail to tribute summon lava battleguard in attack mode."
Dirk's face twitched for a second. "Lava Battleguard huh, that's a pretty good card. Was it your recommendation?"
"Uhuh, anyway Lava Battleguard attacks your witch."
Dirk sighed and put his monster in the graveyard "I take 300 points of damage."
"Well then I think I'll leave it at that for now. Your turn. Let's see if you can draw a card that can combat my Lava Battleguard."
Dirk drew a card. 'Exactly the card I was waiting for.' He set the card he just drew and 2 cards in his spell and trap card zone and passed the turn to Anthony.
"Ah you bastard, you know I don't know these decks by heart." Anthony exclaimed. "Ah well, nothing I can do about it. Draw! Exactly what I needed. I equip legendary sword to my Lava Battleguard which boosts his attack and defense by 300 points and I attack your face down."
Dirk smiled. "Sorry, it's a Mystical Elf and with Yami her defense is 2200, you'll be taking 350 points of damage now."
"Is this your definition in fun, tying the lifepoints with your oppon-" As he started looking back at his cards he'd noticed the time. "Sorry I have to leave."
"Afraid you might lose because you can't get over my monster?" Dirk said with a wide smile on his face.
"No, well actually yes. However that's not the point. We'll be arriving shortly, and I doubt people want to see me wearing this." He gestured to his outfit.
Dirk sighed. "For once you're right. Go, you might still have enough time to fix everything." He said in a playful tone.

About 20 minutes later 2 men were standing on the ship, both wearing suits. As the wind was blowing rather strongly they were looking at the harbor which was getting closer and closer. "You ready for this Anthony?" Dirk asked. Anthony nodded, if one were to compare how he looked before and now no one would believe it was the same person. His hair was neatly combed, he wore a well tailored suit which made him look taller and bigger than he actually was. He sighed. "I hope people will show up and don't think it's some sort of prank."
"Don't you worry about that." Dirk exclaimed. "We've got perfectly credible financial backers who surely have promoted the hell out of this school." A security guard came running towards them. "Mister Deon, mister Bobson, please come inside for your own safety we're about to dock." With that they walked inside and waited until the docking was complete.

About 15 minutes later a small desk was put next to the entrance to the ship where Anthony sat and Dirk was inspecting everything on the ship hoping everything was in order.

Edward scans card

"Alright ill take the first move! I draw! Now i normal summon my Takuhee to the field! Then i will equip it with the Follow wind equip card to boost its attack and defense by 300! With that ill end my turn!"

"Its my turn I draw. First i'll activate tremendous fire inflicting 1000 damage to your life points, however It comes with a price i have to take 500 damage." Next i'll set one card and end my turn"

"1000 points! Thats nothing compared to what your about to take! draw! I set a card facedown and then i will normal summon winged dragon of the fortress#2! and now i attack your facedown with Takuhee!

"You fell for my trap Giant germ!" "With his effect you take 500 I bring one more in defense mode to my field"

"You call that a trap! What a joke i will now attack it with Winged dragon! Now you take 200 points of damage!"

"You still take 500 damage from giant germ's effect"

"It dosnt matter! You have an empty field now! I end my turn"

"I once again set one card and end my turn"

"Thats it! Dont make me laugh. Draw! I play the mountains field spell! With this my winged beasts monsters gain an extra 200! Now i will normal summon Fiends reflection#2! Now i attack your facedown with my dragon! Then i attack directly with both my monsters and end my turn!"

*Edward sighs and says "Once again i'll set a card and end my turn"

"Haha This is why your in red! Draw! I normal summon Birdface, and attack your facedown with my dragon! And attack directly with the erst of my monsters! This is just sad i dont even need any of my good cards to win!

Edward gathers his card and says "Good game, but i do something to add, your arrogance will be your trust me you'll fine out sooner or later. Maybe not today or tommorow but someday you may mature enough to get over arogance like I have" *Edwards gets up ands walks away from the person who clearly to arrogant to not gloat.*

"Goodgame! HAHA thats a joke right! That was anything but a game! My arrogance! Dont make me laugh your just a sore loser! Thats what you are a sore loser! Its a shame i didnt even need the help of my good cards!"

"Get ready now, because I draw!" Yayoi shouted. "I'll take it easy and set 1 monster that might bite every friday night!" he said. As he laughed, he looked at the other duelist "Now, I'll end as you, If you may... tell me your name?" he asked, as he ended his turn.

"Lucius Zantos is my name, and I'll summon Giant Rat in attack mode." he smiled "Now I activate Sparks from my hand and set 1 card facedown."

"200 points, why do you even play that?" Yayoi asked. "I mean... what a healthy chunk of my lp" he laughed.

"I play it for quick, easy damage, Now Giant Rat attack his set monster!"he shouted

"Bite shoes bites... didn't I just tell you that?" he said. "Now your giant rodent goes to defense mode..." he said.

"Well my rodent has higher Defence then attack so I guess I'll thank you for that" He smiled happy that he won't take much damage next turn if any. "And with that I'll end my turn"

"My turn then... Draw!" he said, as he did so."Well, let's take a trip to what goes bump in the night... which is... Terra The Terrible!!" he shouted as he jumped and summoned the monster. "Now before you say that he doesn't have enough attack, I'll equip him with Dark Energy, granting him enough to destroy your overgrown rodent, who was even testing with that thing?" he said mocking it. "Terra... throw some mud over that things face... it disgusts me" he said.

"You Must not know my Rat's effect" he smirked " When He is destroyed i can special summon 1 earth monster with 1500 or less attack points" he laughs "Say hello to Hercules Beetle"

Lucius drew his next card immediatley playing it "I activate Forest giving my beetle 200 more attack points, Next I'll follow up with Laser Cannon Armor giving him 300 more attack points, Now with 2000 attack points he can easily Destroy your Terra, Hercules Atttack him. I think I did pretty good there what do you think" he says ending his turn.

Yayoi hadn't heard Lucius, "Wow... Terra is out huh..." he said. "I'll play another face down this turn, after I draw, and end" he said.

"Hmmm, going for a defencive strategy, huh? I'll summon winged cleaver which gets the 200 point boost from the 'Forest' Field Magic card, Now Beetle destroy his set monster and Cleaver hit him directly" he smiled glad to maybe win "I'll end my turn there"

"Cleaver hit him- not happening... Bite Shoes effect won't let it" he said.

"Draw!" he did so and looked at his hand. "I summon my Dark King of the Abyss and destroy your cleaver'' he said. "I end my turn there"

Lucius draws his card "I summon Big Insect in attack mode, He may start With 1200 but with 'Forest' out he gains 200 points" he smiled clearly happy with his draws "Insect attack his King of the abyss now Beetle Attack Him directly, I'll Set 1 card and end my turn."

"Draw, damn it, my draws aren't helping... I set 1 again and end"

"You remember my Giant Rat from earlier? Well I drew into my next one, Come on out Giant Rat" he flashed a toothy grin "Insect Attack his set cards and the other to follow suit, You never told me your name"

"I draw set and end again" Yayoi said in a depressed tone.

"I tribute My Big Insect for another Hercules Beetle" he said happily "Now Rat Attack His set monster and my beetles end this duel"

"Giant Germs effect activates, so I summon 2 of him while you take damage" Yayoi said

He shrugs "It is still enough to end this duel once and for all"

"It is, good game, but the rematch still goes... because I'm asking for it"

"Good game" He replied "I don't have time right now I'm Sorry man"

Alexis smiled "I will set one card face down and end my turn Videns"

"My turnturn, I draw. I summon mushroom man #2 and attack your set monster. I'll then set 3 cards and end my turn"

Alexis smiled "Unfortunately, my ma-eater bug will end your mushroom man, I will set a monster face down and end my turn"

"I draw, I summon soldier of stone and Equip him with sword of deep seated to boost his attack and defence. Then I'll attack you're set card and end my turn."

Alexis frowned, drawing her card "Okay I set a monster face down and end my turn once agian"

"I ddaw. I summon probes of Tsurugi. I'll then activate my set card, share the pain so we both tribute a monster. I then Equip my soldier with another sword, so he has 2300 atk. Now attack her directly. Now I'll end my turn.

Alexis frowned "I'll set another monster face down and end my turn"

"Ba hand huh? My turn I draw! I set a card then attack with my soldier. I end my turn."

Alexis nodded as she drew her card "Bad is an understatement I set another monster face down and end my turn"

"Wllthat's good for me atleast. I draw. I Equip my soldier woth Fairy meteor mash so it can do piercing damage.then summon ooguchi. Soldier attack her defence monster then ooguchi attack directly. I end my turn."

Alexis frowned and looked at her hand "I activate the magic card fissure! then I summon petit moth in attack mode and activate share the pain! getting rid of my moth and your soldier of stone then I end my turn"

"I draw and end. "

Alexis smiled, knowing she had a few turns "I will set a monster face down and end my turn"

"I draw and end my turn. Again..."

Alexis smiled "I flip my face down, skelengel! now I draw a card with its effect, attack you directly and end my turn"

"I draw. Great. I summon killer needle and Equip him with my two swords and attack your monster. Then I end my turn."

Alexis frowned "I'll set two cards face down and end my turn"

"Soo close." Videns said as he drew. "I summon jinzo #7 and with both my monsters I attack directly then end my turn."

Alexis drew her card and sighed, placing her hand on her deck "I concede in this duel, but I want my rematch right now" she said with smile.

"OMYGODI WIN! " Videns said in surprise he was so happy. "Oh sure, round 3 it is!"

The female skipped merrily up to the red side of the duel ring, her hands held gently behind her back as she prepared for her exam. She reached over with her left arm to her right and unbuttoned her deck pouch that was strapped to her right bicep and gingerly slid out her cards, all while humming "Pop Goes the Weasel" for whatever reason. As the mechanism kicked and lifted her up, she began shuffling her cards all kinds of ways with somewhat of an expert's sleight of hand; bridging, cascading, power shuffling, etc. When she was finished she placed her deck upon the proper slot and held her hands behind her back again, awaiting her tester without a word.
"Well then aren't you cheerful?" The tester commented on her humming and shuffling her deck. He put one of the three test decks down after shuffling it and once again looked at his opponent."You can start." He said as his tone shifted to a more serious tone.
"Hm...I draw then, and the performance begins!" The girl said with a slight giggle to her words. First, I'll activate the field spell card Wastelands, which gives all Rock, Zombie, and Dinosaur-type performers a 200 point boost in their Attack and Defense. Then, I'll summon The Snake Hair in Attack Mode! She seems kind of bland without her jewelry though, so I'm equipping the card Violet Crystal to her beautiful design, giving her another 300 point stat boost. With that, I'll end act one. Your turn!"
"Well seems like your starting hand was one that most duelists could only dream about, lets see if we can't turn this dream into a nightmare shall we? Draw!" He examined the cards in his hand, it wasn't a bad hand by far but it wasn't exactly what he needed at this moment. So for now he had to play the defense game. "I think I'll set a monster this turn and end my turn." With that he gestured towards his student "The spotlight is yours."
"You're too kind, but frankly I was going to steal the spotlight anyway. Act two, raise the curtain!" The girl smiled wider as she drew her card and examined her hand. Then, she got an insidious grin. "I think I'll play a game of Mimic and set a monster face-down in defense mode. Now, Snake Hair, give his monster its curtain call! Attack!" She watched as her teacher's monster was turned to stone by the Snake Hair's gaze and crumbled before it. She clapped her hands a few times before tilting her head. "Let's see if you can top that performance! I end act two."
“Draw!" The teacher looked at his hand and started to do some calculations and thought back about the cards that were in his testee's deck. After thinking it through for about 2 minutes he put his cards on the edge of his duel field and looked at her. "I end my turn."
"Well isn't that boring..." The girl thought to herself for a second after she drew her card. This was pretty suspicious--and she of all people knew suspicious. However, she shrugged it off and continued with her move. "And now act three will introduce a special performer! Half dragon, half zombie, I summon Dragon Zombie to the field!" She giggled as she summoned out her monster. "And thanks to my Wasteland field spell, Dragon Zombie gets a 200 point boost to his stats! But wait! There's more! I reveal my face-down monster known as Castle of Dark Illusions! This very special stage has a special ability: When it's flipped face-up, it gives all of my zombies another 200 points to their stats, and will continue to do so with every standby phase. This brings my Dragon Zombie to 2000 Atk and my Snake Hair to 2200! Now, my performers, attack him directly! With that, act three is finished. Spotlight's on you, sir!"
The teacher smiled as his student had flipped face-up the castle, he had expected it being there. Any other card in her deck would've been played face-up except for that card. "Okay then Draw! It was a good decision from me to skip an entire turn, otherwise I would've never been able to get rid of your little castle. Now then it's time I'd show you some of the power this deck possesses. I activate polymerization fusing my Tongyo and Bottom Dweller together to summon the mighty Deepsea shark! Next I'll normal summon my hyosube in attack mode. Battle! Now my hyosube attacks your castle of dark illusions! Due to your castle being gone all your monsters lose the boost it gave them thus your snake hair and dragon zombie both drop by 200 points! This is more than enough for my shark you eat your zombie alive! Go Deepsea Shark Abyssal crunch! With that I think I'll end my turn."
She began to clap in applause at the move he made. "Oh well done well done! An excellent comeback move!" Then her smile turned into a frown as her voice seemed to deepen. "I'd have appreciated it more had you not destroyed my stage and injured my performer, but this will do...Act four, the tragedy, begin." She drew her card and analyzed it. "I'm going to summon Muka Muka in attack mode. At first he seems frail but since he's a Rock-Type, Wasteland gives him 200 extra stats, and on top of that, Muka Muka gains 300 Atk and Def for every card in my hand. Since I have 3 cards in my hand, his attack points go up by a total of 1100, raising him to 1700 Attack points. Now, battle, Muka Muka, attack his Hyosube with Rock Pincer! And let's not forget the star of the show...Snake Hair still has 2000 Attack points. Snake Hair, eviscerate his pathetic shark!" She watched with a wicked grin as both of his monsters were destroyed and with a shrug, she crossed her arms. "Your turn. Act four has ended."
"Well then let's see how well my deck threats me this turn Draw! I'll set a card this turn and end my turn."
"Act five...the finale. Or will it be? Let's see shall we? I draw." The girl looked at the card she drew and sighed. This would've been better had Dragon Zombie survived, but oh well, she thought. "Let's end this show...I summon forth Destroyer Golem in attack mode, and since he's a Rock-type, Wasteland gives him 200 Atk and Def. Battle...Snake Hair, attack his face-down! Now my last performers, give him Hell...Attack him directly!" The girl watched as her teacher's life points hit 0 and the duel was won. Picking up her cards she slipped them back into her deck box as the machine lowered her to the ground. She should've been smiling but she wasn't, as the thought of losing Castle of Dark Illusions and Dragon Zombie upset her. But still, she then made a quick smile towards her teacher. "So, how'd I do?"
