[TAoB](Mid/High) Journey to the island 1

A man in his late 20s was standing in front of a window of a ship looking at the endless blue ocean in front of him. The man didn't seem very impressive, he wasn't tall or muscular. The colours of the clothes he wore were starting to fade and they looked somewhat stretched. The shirt he was wearing was very light blue, however it was clear it once had a much brighter color which had a print of multiple playing cards. Further more he wore normal jeans and a pair of normal shoes which noses were almost worn out. His light brown hair was messy like he just woke up and didn't bother doing anything about his hair. As the man was looking out of the window, the door behind him swung open with a loud screech. A man in a suit was the one who had opened the door and seemed to be the polar opposite to the one  looking out of the window. He was tall, muscular and and looked like he cared what people thought about him. The suit looked like it was made for this man which made him look even more impressive. His voice echoed throughout the room as he spoke, it was a deep somewhat hoarse voice.
"Hey Anthony, how long do you think you can just stay around here? You know that we'll be arriving shortly, if it weren't for me I'm positive you'd still be on the island."
The man turned around with a carefree smile on his face as if the words didn't phase him and sighed. "I know, I know. You don't have to keep reminding me every time you get the chance Dirk. What were you doing anyway, you also almost missed the boat. That's very unlike you." Anthony replied with a playful tone in his voice his voice was fairly neutral, almost no emotion that he didn't want to could be heard from his tone. Although he sometimes spoke a bit too fast and a syllable was lost, other than that there wasn't anything special about his voice.
"Yeah, that's right. However after noticing that you weren't on the ship 30 minutes before we were going to depart I decided to go looking for you, since knowing you the chance of you missing the boat was high. You might've defeated me in tournaments before, however your behavior outside the tournaments aren't anything but unprofessional." Dirk said with a sharp tone in his voice.
Anthony chuckled nervously "You've got a point there, however how could I stay focused while I was thinking about all the children who will go to this school?" He said with excitement in his voice.
Dirk started to calm down a bit and sighed. "I get where you're coming from, however you should REALLY mind the time." He took a quick glance at his watch. "Hmm. we're not scheduled to arrive for another 30 minutes." As soon as his sentence ended a sly grin appeared on his face and asked "Wanna play?"
"You still gotta ask?" Anthony replied without thinking in a playful tone. "So wanna play for real or just for fun?"
Dirk's grin grew wider. "You still gotta ask?" He said in a similar tone to Anthony.

"Well then, seeing how you challenged me, I'll begin. My turn. Draw! Hmm..." As soon as the duel began Anthony seemed to change, his personality and the vibe he had changed in a snap. From easy-going and lazy to completely focused and serious. "I set a monster and end my turn." Anthony's voice seemed deeper and could easily be heard throughout the entire room, due to the confidence that was behind the voice. He made a simple hand gesture at the end of his turn signifying Dirk could go.
Dirk looked at Anthony to see if he could read a bluff from his face but nothing was showing. "Okay then, my turn. Draw! It's best to have a strong start, and hope you've got nothing there. I normal summon witch's apprentice and activate Yami. My monster now has 1250 attack. Battle phase. My monster attacks your set one."
Anthony flipped the monster and grinned. "Too bad, Armail has 1300 defense. Take 50 damage."
Dirk's face was completely calm however he wasn't. 'A monster with 1300 defense, really?! I would've prefered a mystical elf over that." He sighed. "Well that's everything I can do for now. Your turn."
"Well then." Anthony said with an excited voice. "This is where things get interesting. Draw! I tribute my armail to tribute summon lava battleguard in attack mode."
Dirk's face twitched for a second. "Lava Battleguard huh, that's a pretty good card. Was it your recommendation?"
"Uhuh, anyway Lava Battleguard attacks your witch."
Dirk sighed and put his monster in the graveyard "I take 300 points of damage."
"Well then I think I'll leave it at that for now. Your turn. Let's see if you can draw a card that can combat my Lava Battleguard."
Dirk drew a card. 'Exactly the card I was waiting for.' He set the card he just drew and 2 cards in his spell and trap card zone and passed the turn to Anthony.
"Ah you bastard, you know I don't know these decks by heart." Anthony exclaimed. "Ah well, nothing I can do about it. Draw! Exactly what I needed. I equip legendary sword to my Lava Battleguard which boosts his attack and defense by 300 points and I attack your face down."
Dirk smiled. "Sorry, it's a Mystical Elf and with Yami her defense is 2200, you'll be taking 350 points of damage now."
"Is this your definition in fun, tying the lifepoints with your oppon-" As he started looking back at his cards he'd noticed the time. "Sorry I have to leave."
"Afraid you might lose because you can't get over my monster?" Dirk said with a wide smile on his face.
"No, well actually yes. However that's not the point. We'll be arriving shortly, and I doubt people want to see me wearing this." He gestured to his outfit.
Dirk sighed. "For once you're right. Go, you might still have enough time to fix everything." He said in a playful tone.

About 20 minutes later 2 men were standing on the ship, both wearing suits. As the wind was blowing rather strongly they were looking at the harbor which was getting closer and closer. "You ready for this Anthony?" Dirk asked. Anthony nodded, if one were to compare how he looked before and now no one would believe it was the same person. His hair was neatly combed, he wore a well tailored suit which made him look taller and bigger than he actually was. He sighed. "I hope people will show up and don't think it's some sort of prank."
"Don't you worry about that." Dirk exclaimed. "We've got perfectly credible financial backers who surely have promoted the hell out of this school." A security guard came running towards them. "Mister Deon, mister Bobson, please come inside for your own safety we're about to dock." With that they walked inside and waited until the docking was complete.

About 15 minutes later a small desk was put next to the entrance to the ship where Anthony sat and Dirk was inspecting everything on the ship hoping everything was in order.

Lydia reached the Duel Ring and scanned her DI while she waited for her opponent to do the same and begin the duel.

"Okay, lets start this duel already. I'll start this duel off. I draw. I think I'll set 3 cards in total and end my turn, your up."

"Fine then. I'll start my turn by drawing a card, then I will activate my field spell Mountain and summon Baby Dragon in attack mode. Then, I'll end my turn."

"Okay, no attack? Sure then, my turn and i draw! I'll set another 2 cards then end my turn."

"Just like a red to hide behind defense monsters. I Draw, then I will attack the monster you just set with Baby Dragon. Now I'll end my turn by setting a card of my own face down. For now."

"You know I'm a yellow right? I thought you were meant to be smart since you were in blue? Maybe another glitch? Anyway my turn, I draw! I'll set another two cards then end my turn!"

Lydia glared at Videns, "I know where you really belong, draw. Now I will summon Lord of D. in attack mode. Next my Dragon will attack your monster once again!"

"Getting a little predictable. My turn! Okay, this no loosing lp thing is kinda boring, so i use final Flame from my hand! Then ill summon my Mushroom Man #2 in attack mode, now attack her Lord of D. and with that I'll end my turn."

Lydia frowned as she drew her next card, she had hoped to make a bigger play off of that Lord of D. this turn. "Fine then, in that case I'll set another monster face down then activate Red Medicine. Finally I'll end my turn by attacking your mushroom."

"Oh equal again, I see. My turn then, I draw." Not happy with his hand at all, Videns did all he could. "I set a card then end my turn."

"Time to move onto the offensive. I draw. Now I will summon Lesser Dragon in attack mode. Will any of those face-downs help you here?"

"Hmph, who needs help, I'll allow it."

"You need help, obviously. I've seen how your deck works, not from you of course because you didn't last more than a few rounds in the duel but from someone who chose the same deck. Because of this I'm going to end my turn this turn without attacking. Next turn however you better be prepared."

"Not all Decks are identical, and not everyone plays the same. So my turn and I'll set a card and end my turn."

"And you were calling me the predictable one. My turn now. I draw and I will immediately initiate the battle phase and attack two of your face down monsters. I'll end my turn now."

"Fine, I'll draw, and looks like ill have to end it right now."

Drawing once more Lydia looked at her hand thoughtfully. Videns had a near full back row which might prove to be a problem if she tried to make a big push, on the other hand stalling much longer might cost her in the end. Deciding to take a chance she continued her turn. "I'll summon another Lord of D. in attack position and end my turn."

"Okay, my turn, and I'll set a monster then end my turn." Videns said rather annoyed. He wasn't drawing anything useful.

Lydia smirked as she drew her next card. She wasn't smirking because of what she drew, even though it would come very much in handy later if it came to it. No, her arrogant smile came from the fact Videns didn't do anything to interrupt her plans. "Let's get this duel over with so everyone here can finally see that I am in fact far better than you. My Dragons will attack both your face down monsters!" One of the monsters had just enough defense to survive the attack. "Fine then. I'll finish up my turn by Tributing my Baby Dragon for Yamadron, you won't survive another attack next turn."

"We'l see, I draw," Nothing again, how unforetunate. Sighing heavily Vidnes shook his hand, giving the girl her turn.

"Isn't it amusing when people think they can show up their superiors? I draw and will start my turn by activating Hinotama. Next my Yamadron will destroy your tenderness and lesser dragon will attack your face down."

"You just activated my monsters effect, now you take 500 points of damage for each spell and trap you have on the field."

"Only 500, that's nothing to worry about I finish by attacking you directly with Lord of D. . Your move."

"I draw, set a card then end my turn." Videns said, he didn't bother responding to her previous comment.

"How disappointing. My turn once more. Now, My Lesser dragon will attack your face down monster, from there my Yamadron and Lord of D. will attack your lifepoints directly! With that I conclude my turn."

Videns drew a card for his turn. "Oh well i think you've won, but ill atleast do some more damage. I activate my 4 face downs, set a card then end my turn."

"I expected nothing more from you. I'll start my turn by tributing one of my face down monsters for Meteor Dragon and equip it with Dragon treasure. Now Yamadron! Destroy his face down and meteor dragon end this duel!"

Videns life points hit 0, he had lost, but he had a smile on his face. "Good game, but i said we'd have a match, gotta make sure it wasn't luck that you won, right?" Videns said to her with his rather devilish grin. Seeing how proud this woman was she would more than likely accept, hopefully!

"I'd be more than happy to crush you again. Start again."

"Great, of you have a side deck, get siding, then I'll go first." Videns would say when she was done. "I Draw, I summon my Servant of catabolism in attack mode and set a card. My turn is done, Your up."


"Seems my opening hand isn't as favorable this duel. No matter. I summon Lord of D. in attack mode. Next, the Lord will destroy your pathetic Servant. Fitting isn't it? I end my turn."

"Quite, that's why i let you, now my turn, I draw. I summon Mushroom man #2 in attack mode and attack your lord of D., then end my turn. Not quite as funny, but it'll have to do"

"My draw. I summon Blackland Fire Dragon in attack mode."

"You sure about that? I activate my trap card! Horn o heaven, no i tribute my Mushroom Man and it negates your summon, Say good bye to your monster!"

Lydia frowned at the loss of her dragon, "fine then. I end my turn."

"Hmmm, my turn, I draw, good, I summon my Baby Dragon, and i think you'll find that he is far cuter than yours! Now he shall attack you directly!" Videns said summoning his monster. "And with that i end my turn."

Drawing again Lydia sighed in annoyance, "You seem to be getting fairy lucky this round. I'll set a card in defense position and end my turn."

"Well luck works both ways, like your last duel." Videns said with a cocky chuckle. "My turn then, I draw! I summon My Giant Soldier of Stone in attack mode! Then ill boost him up with sword of deep-seated. Now Soldier attack her face down monster, Stone smasher!

"Unfortunately for me I'll have to take the damage of that Baby dragon directly, but it will be worth it to prevent you drawing a new card next turn due to your spells effect. My face down monster is Hane-Hane and it will return your Soldier back to your hand."

"Hmm, nice card, but I'll be able to do the same next turn, Now baby Dragon attack her directly. And with that i end my turn"

Hissing in annoyance under her breath as she drew again Lydia began her turn. "I'll summon One-Eyed Shield Dragon in attack mode, then use share the pain to force you to tribute your baby dragon. Then I will end my turn by playing sparks."

"Not the best, but that's fine, cause now i shall summon my Two-Mouthed Darkruler, and attack you directly, and with that i end my turn."

"Draw. Now then, we're starting to get somewhere but still not good enough. I will activate Mountain and summon Lesser Dragon to attack your Darkruler."

"Well thanks for taking the bait, i dont mind loosing some life points, so long as you loose more! My turn and i Draw. Now ill do what i did a few turns ago and summon my soldier of stone, equip him with my spell, and attack your lesser dragon, then end my turn"

"Fine then. I'll set a card and end my turn."

"Aww, i was hoping for a turn around, oh well, My turn, I draw!" Videns said trying to annoy her. "I set a card then attack your fd monster with my giant soldier."

"So close, yet so far. My dragon piper has equal defense to your soldiers attack. Your attack does nothing."

"Maybe for now, But not for long. I end my turn. See inst this fun!" Videns said trying to actually get her to enjoy the duel. She seemed rather annoyed at her loosing, then made a hand gesture to her, signifying the end of his turn.

"It'll be fun when I crush you. I draw, then I will tribute my dragon piper for Yamadron to destroy your soldier and my dragon. Your move."

"That,s not that nice, your poor monster. Well you know my sword goes to the top of my deck. I shall now flip my set monster, say hello to princess of tsurugi, now you take 500 points of damage for each spell you control, so that's 500 points in total. Now i summon my Rainbow flower. Now my monsters attack you directly. And with that i end my turn,"

"I Draw. I summon Fairy Dragon in attack mode and equip Dragon Treasure to it. Now I attack your flower! Fairy Dragon burn that plant to ash. Your turn."

"hmm, not the best. I draw. I tribute my princess to summon my catapult turtle in defense mode, and with that i end my turn."

"That's going to be a problem. For now I Summon Koumori Dragon in attack mode, and since my monsters are not strong enough to destroy your turtle yet I end my turn."

"Great, I draw. I summon my dark gray in attack mode. And since he is too weak to attack your monsters i use my turtle's effect to send it straight for your life points, although only doing half the damage." Videns said carrying out his moves. "so since you took some damage, i think that's a good enough turn, so now i end my turn."

Lydia drew again and sighed, once again it wasn't the card she needed. "I summon Baby Dragon in attack mode and end my turn. I can do nothing more."

"come on deck, lets end this duel now! I draw, I summon my Leghul in attack mode hen with his effect i attack you directly, then use my turtle's eff to deal more damage. After that I'll set a card then end my turn."

Drawing her next card Lydia frowned at the face down that Videns had just played. "Only one thing I can do now. I send Thunder Dragon from my hand to my grave to add two from my deck, then I use Polymerization to fuse them into the Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon! Now! My Dragon will annihilate your turtle and the rest of my dragons will attack you directly!" With a smug look on her face Lydia passed the turn to Videns.


"That's what i wanted to see, I draw." Videns could have used a lot of cards but the one he got was useless. "I set a card, then activate my two equip spell cards to your thunder dragon then end my turn. I thought I may as well let your Ace monster win by equipping it with my cards, it can even do piercing damage, finishing this game right now by attacking my defense position monster, so go ahead finish it."

Lydia laughed at Videns pathetic attempt to get her to destroy herself, "Do you think I don't know how Fairy Meteor Crush works? I attack your face down with Koumori Dragon! and my Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon will put you down for good. This match is over. Next time don't think you have the faintest hope to beat me."
