[TAoB](Mid/High) Journey to the island 1

A man in his late 20s was standing in front of a window of a ship looking at the endless blue ocean in front of him. The man didn't seem very impressive, he wasn't tall or muscular. The colours of the clothes he wore were starting to fade and they looked somewhat stretched. The shirt he was wearing was very light blue, however it was clear it once had a much brighter color which had a print of multiple playing cards. Further more he wore normal jeans and a pair of normal shoes which noses were almost worn out. His light brown hair was messy like he just woke up and didn't bother doing anything about his hair. As the man was looking out of the window, the door behind him swung open with a loud screech. A man in a suit was the one who had opened the door and seemed to be the polar opposite to the one  looking out of the window. He was tall, muscular and and looked like he cared what people thought about him. The suit looked like it was made for this man which made him look even more impressive. His voice echoed throughout the room as he spoke, it was a deep somewhat hoarse voice.
"Hey Anthony, how long do you think you can just stay around here? You know that we'll be arriving shortly, if it weren't for me I'm positive you'd still be on the island."
The man turned around with a carefree smile on his face as if the words didn't phase him and sighed. "I know, I know. You don't have to keep reminding me every time you get the chance Dirk. What were you doing anyway, you also almost missed the boat. That's very unlike you." Anthony replied with a playful tone in his voice his voice was fairly neutral, almost no emotion that he didn't want to could be heard from his tone. Although he sometimes spoke a bit too fast and a syllable was lost, other than that there wasn't anything special about his voice.
"Yeah, that's right. However after noticing that you weren't on the ship 30 minutes before we were going to depart I decided to go looking for you, since knowing you the chance of you missing the boat was high. You might've defeated me in tournaments before, however your behavior outside the tournaments aren't anything but unprofessional." Dirk said with a sharp tone in his voice.
Anthony chuckled nervously "You've got a point there, however how could I stay focused while I was thinking about all the children who will go to this school?" He said with excitement in his voice.
Dirk started to calm down a bit and sighed. "I get where you're coming from, however you should REALLY mind the time." He took a quick glance at his watch. "Hmm. we're not scheduled to arrive for another 30 minutes." As soon as his sentence ended a sly grin appeared on his face and asked "Wanna play?"
"You still gotta ask?" Anthony replied without thinking in a playful tone. "So wanna play for real or just for fun?"
Dirk's grin grew wider. "You still gotta ask?" He said in a similar tone to Anthony.

"Well then, seeing how you challenged me, I'll begin. My turn. Draw! Hmm..." As soon as the duel began Anthony seemed to change, his personality and the vibe he had changed in a snap. From easy-going and lazy to completely focused and serious. "I set a monster and end my turn." Anthony's voice seemed deeper and could easily be heard throughout the entire room, due to the confidence that was behind the voice. He made a simple hand gesture at the end of his turn signifying Dirk could go.
Dirk looked at Anthony to see if he could read a bluff from his face but nothing was showing. "Okay then, my turn. Draw! It's best to have a strong start, and hope you've got nothing there. I normal summon witch's apprentice and activate Yami. My monster now has 1250 attack. Battle phase. My monster attacks your set one."
Anthony flipped the monster and grinned. "Too bad, Armail has 1300 defense. Take 50 damage."
Dirk's face was completely calm however he wasn't. 'A monster with 1300 defense, really?! I would've prefered a mystical elf over that." He sighed. "Well that's everything I can do for now. Your turn."
"Well then." Anthony said with an excited voice. "This is where things get interesting. Draw! I tribute my armail to tribute summon lava battleguard in attack mode."
Dirk's face twitched for a second. "Lava Battleguard huh, that's a pretty good card. Was it your recommendation?"
"Uhuh, anyway Lava Battleguard attacks your witch."
Dirk sighed and put his monster in the graveyard "I take 300 points of damage."
"Well then I think I'll leave it at that for now. Your turn. Let's see if you can draw a card that can combat my Lava Battleguard."
Dirk drew a card. 'Exactly the card I was waiting for.' He set the card he just drew and 2 cards in his spell and trap card zone and passed the turn to Anthony.
"Ah you bastard, you know I don't know these decks by heart." Anthony exclaimed. "Ah well, nothing I can do about it. Draw! Exactly what I needed. I equip legendary sword to my Lava Battleguard which boosts his attack and defense by 300 points and I attack your face down."
Dirk smiled. "Sorry, it's a Mystical Elf and with Yami her defense is 2200, you'll be taking 350 points of damage now."
"Is this your definition in fun, tying the lifepoints with your oppon-" As he started looking back at his cards he'd noticed the time. "Sorry I have to leave."
"Afraid you might lose because you can't get over my monster?" Dirk said with a wide smile on his face.
"No, well actually yes. However that's not the point. We'll be arriving shortly, and I doubt people want to see me wearing this." He gestured to his outfit.
Dirk sighed. "For once you're right. Go, you might still have enough time to fix everything." He said in a playful tone.

About 20 minutes later 2 men were standing on the ship, both wearing suits. As the wind was blowing rather strongly they were looking at the harbor which was getting closer and closer. "You ready for this Anthony?" Dirk asked. Anthony nodded, if one were to compare how he looked before and now no one would believe it was the same person. His hair was neatly combed, he wore a well tailored suit which made him look taller and bigger than he actually was. He sighed. "I hope people will show up and don't think it's some sort of prank."
"Don't you worry about that." Dirk exclaimed. "We've got perfectly credible financial backers who surely have promoted the hell out of this school." A security guard came running towards them. "Mister Deon, mister Bobson, please come inside for your own safety we're about to dock." With that they walked inside and waited until the docking was complete.

About 15 minutes later a small desk was put next to the entrance to the ship where Anthony sat and Dirk was inspecting everything on the ship hoping everything was in order.

Alexis smiled, making sure her card was identifed so she could get the points "Okay! I'll draw first" she said, smiling as she drew her card.

"Wait a sec, let me identify my thingiemajig too" Yayoi said as he did so, "Now then, continue"

Alexis smiled, I'll set a monster in face down defense position and end my turn"

"I'll draw!" he looked at what he had drawed. "I'll take a leaf out of your tree and set one monster too" he said "I'll also keep the mood and end my turn"

Alexis smiled, "I'll draw, seeing a card she could use later she smiled and looked through her hand "Hmm..I'll flip my big insect from defense mdoe to attack mode, then I'll attack your face down!"

"Here, I might hate germs but you can have 2 of them. Doesn't hurt right Alexis?" he asked as he laughed, "Now then, I'll search and summon the 2 I promised you could have"

Alexis smiled, "I'll set one card face down and end my turn"

"Well, draw!" he did so and immediately shouted "Let's have... fuuuuuuuuun" as he summoned a monster onto the field "Say hello to the witch's apprentice!!" he smirked, "By her effect, my germs and her get a 500 atk boost, and don't bother summoning light monsters, they are rendered weak by her too" he said, "Now, I attack your Ant with my germ- actually with my monsters, that would sound disgusting, ewww" he said "And now I attack you directly with all my monsters that can do so!" he said, leaning on his side of the ring and commanding his monsters to atk. "I end now"

Alexis smiled "Well then, nice move I must say...but I have moves up my sleeve too...I draw! looking through her hand she smiles "First I'll use the magic card shield and sword, that switches the attack and defense of all monsters currently on the field, then I will summon Milus radiant in attack mode! Now Milus Radiant, destroy one of the germs!, and with that ill end my turn"

"I draw!" he said, "Lucky me Witch here has a twin sister, here say hi!" he smiled playfully as he summond the monster. "Now then, that is 1000 atk points being boosted to all of my monsters! Hehe... tell me if it hurts, I brought the band-aids!" he laughed. "Witch hurt his Radiant, and then you guys attack him directly!" "Good game I guess" Yayoi said.

Alexis sighe dbefore grinning "Okay, you won duel one, but I want a rematch, she said, grinning, having the field reset, and I will go first once again, I'll set a monster face down and end my turn"

"I'll draw!" "Not much I can do but, hey... Skulls sound good right?" he asked. "Have a skull knight, he's pretty tough, so don't take him as a joke!" he said. "He'll prove his toughness next turn, if he lives too see next turn, for I end"

Alexis looked through her hand and smiled, "I'll tribute my face down monster, in order to bring out the might dungeon worm! now my worm, destroy his skull knight! and with that I will end"

"Eww a worm?" he said, "does he really belong here, I mean... I'll fissure him anyway, but it's still disgusting having a worm..." he shook as he activated fissure. "Now then, look in the deepest pits of the cauldron and watch an old friend come back, witch's apprentice!! Arise!!!" he played the card and a witch appeared, like the one from the last round, this one boosted her atk again. "I attack you directly! Now then, I end and maybe wait patiently... for some trickers to give you a show!" he said.

Alexis smiled "Okay then, I draw, don't think you have the upper hand so easily, I summon kuwagata A in attack mode!, now I will attack your witch apprentice!"

"Oh you're a mean lady I'll give you that, but hey... at least I don't need to give you bandages"

Alexis smirked "Seems like someone has all the jokes, Ill end my turn"

"All the jokes, yes... and the bad luck seems to love me too..." he said as he drawed, "I'll set a monster and end for now" he said, in a depressed tone. "It'll come back up, don't worry, the show must go on, don't you agree milady?" he said.

Alexis smiled "Yes, the show must go on, but unfortunately for you, it will be lights out soon enough" she said smirking as she drew her card, smiling as she saw it. "I will set a monster in face down defense mode and attack your face down with my kuwagata a!"

"I bought you a pair of shoes yesterday... like them?" he said, "By bite shoes effect you and A goes into defense" he chuckled "Keep with your class, I won't interrupt you for sometime"

Alexis smirked, this one was funny "Okay then, I will just end my turn"

"Well, I draw!" he shouted, "Oh looky here, I'll leave this for later" he said, "Right now A needs to go, and so he will, after I summon Terra!" he laughed playfully and smiled "Terra get rid of that pest now" "Your turn then, Rose"

Alexis smiled "Just cause you drew a good card doesnt mean your gonna win, I draw! and I'll set a monster face down and end my turn"

"I'm going to save you the trouble of hearing my bad puns from now on and get my game on, sounds good right? I thought so" he said. "Anyway, I'll keep on with my act and equip Dark Energy too my Terra, making Terra pump his attack power up to 1500, hefty don't ya think?" "Terra attack her face-down!"

Alexis smiled "Its a shame, was hoping to save that, you just destroyed my man eater bug, now say bye bye to your terra"

"Bye bye Terra, how I miss you so" he said. "Anyway... your turn again Rose, surprise me"

Alexis drew her card with a smiling, looking through her hand "I summon giant rat in attack mode, now rat, attack his life points directly!"

"Eww... Bugs... and now Rats? You certainly did surprise me Rose..."

Alexis rolled her eyes "Im not queen of the insects for no reason you know, now i pass"

"Queen of the insects? What an interesting title..." he whispered to himself, ''Hmm... Queen or not, you'll get your mischief in some time, After all... I'm not done with this act" he said. "I will put it on halt for some modifications though, but don't worry, it will be back up soon, and then Rose, just then... will the show have true meaning" he said. "Turn end"

Alexis smiled "You certainly are interesting...hmm I draw" she said, looking at her card "I activate the field spell forest, I will flip my face down up to reveal big insect, then I will summon insect soldiers of the sky in attack mode! Now my Giant Rat, Attack his face down!, and now insect soldiers and big insect, attack him directly! and with that I end my turn"

"I draw! I summon Skull Knight and share the pain is my next card" he said. "I gladly end my turn" he said... looking at 2 monsters leave the field.

Alexis watched her insect soldiers leave before smiling as she drew "I draw! I summoned winged cleaver now I attack with all my monsters! good duel, I win this time around"

"That was really good... I'm embarassed though, seems I can't bite as well as I bark huh..." Yayoi said, as he got off the duel ring. "Good duel anyway!" he smiled at Alexis and sat down on the ground

Alexis was walking around before noticing Lydia, smiling she walked up to her "Hello umm...Lydia I think it was? do you wanna duel?"
Lydia sniffed in disdain and looked down her nose at the yellow who had come asking for a duel, "Yet another yellow come to be put down, fine, the packs at the shop are a bit pricey and I need a few more free points anyway." Without looking back Lydia walked to one end of the duel ring and scanned her DI, waiting for Alexis to follow suit.
Alexis blinked and frowned, going to the opposite side and scanning her DI, looking at the girl with a small smile "I'll go first if thats okay, I'll set a monster face down and end my turn"
"Fine then, my draw. For my turn I'll set two cards face down and pass the turn to you."
Alexis smiled "Okay, I'll draw...hmmm" she said, looking through her hand "I'll set a monster face down and flip my other monster to attack mode, now go my big insect, attack her face down!"
Lydia smirked as the insect crashed into her face down, "Not even close. My Dragon Piper's Defense far exceed the attack of your bug."
Alexis smiled "Ohh nice card, okay I'll end my turn"
"My turn next, I draw. Now I'll summon Blackland Fire Dragon in attack mode and scorch your insect." The dragon incinerated the bug and Lydia ended her turn.
Alexis smiled "I draw..okay I'll set a card face down and place a monster in face down defense position then end my turn"
"Alright. I summon Lesser dragon in attack mode, now my dragons will attack your face down monsters."
"My man eater bug will destroy your blackland fire dragon!"
Lydia frown at the destruction of her powerful dragon, "Then I'll end my turn by equiping Dragon Treasure to my lesser Dragon."
Alexis nodded "Okay then, I draw! I'll set a card face down and end my turn, I must say, your dragons are powerful"
"Of course they are. My draw. I will set one card face down and attack your set monster with my dragon."
Alexis smiled "Sorry, cocoon of evolution's defense is too high for your strong dragon"
Growing annoyed now Lydia muttered to herself, "I new I shouldn't have used that dragon treasure on such a weak card.." Then speaking up so Alexis could hear she added, "Your turn."
Alexis smiled "Thank you Lydia, oh im Alexis, now I will draw and set a monster in face down defense and end my turn"
Drawing Lydia called over to Alexis, "Defending seems the only thing your deck is capable of, unfortunately I'm going to have to play copy cat for now and set a monster in defense position and end my turn by attacking your newly set monster."
Alexis frowned seeing her monster destroyed "Was hoping you wouldn't attack..and my deck is great at defending but it can also deal some offense! I draw! I tribute my insect in order to bring out dungeon worm! now my worm attack her lesser dragon!"
Lydia smirked "I activate my trap card, Reinforcements, now my dragon has 2000 attack points until the end of the turn, destroying your pathetic worm."
Alexis smiled "Its not pathetic, its a very good card, you just so happened to have had a counter"
"You seem to be smiling a lot for someone who's losing. I tribute one of my face down monsters and set another. I'll end my turn here for now."
Alexis smiled "Im smiling because im having fun, winning or losing, I draw, hmm...I'll set a monster face down and end my turn"
"I draw, activate sparks, and now I will, once again, attack your face down monster with my Lesser Dragon. I cannot yet destroy your cocoon but it cant last forever. I end my turn"
"Since you destroyed my electric lizard, your lesser dragon can't attack next turn, now I draw, I will summon crass clown in face up defense position! and end my turn"
"Fine by me. I'll draw. Next I'll activate my field Spell Mountain and flip summon my Meteor Dragon. Now my dragon will destroy your joke of a monster! With that my turn is concluded."
Alexis frowned "My ppor clown, I must say, your extremly strong, im pretty excited! I draw, I will set a monster face down and end my turn"
Lydia drew and let out an annoyed hiss, "at this rate I'll never get over that cocoon. Lesser Dragon, destroy the face down. I end my turn."
Alexis smiled gently "I must say, if I didn't have cocoon I would have lost quite some time ago, I draw, I summon insect soldiers of the sky in attack mode!, now attack her lesser dragon! and now I will end my turn"
"Finally got over my Lesser dragon I see. I draw." Lydia sighed as the card she drew still wasn't what she was looking for, "No matter, Meteor Dragon, destroy the bug. I end my turn."
Alexis frowned as her soldiers were destroyed "You served me well, now I draw, I activate the magic card forest! and with that I'll end my turn"
"I can do nothing this turn, I'll change my Meteor Dragon to Defense position and end my turn."
Alexis took a deep breath and drew her card, looking at it and thinking for a moment "Hmm..I will also do nothing this turn, I end"
"I set a monster and end my turn. That card I got from that other yellow isn't doing me any good sitting in my deck."
Alexis took a deep breath and drew again, looking at the cards in her hand "Hmm...I will once again end my turn"
"I draw and set another monster. I end my turn now."
"I draw as well and set a monster face down in defense mode, then I end my turn"Alexis said
"My turn. I draw." Looking at the card she drew she gave a slight nod of approval, "At least we're starting to get somewhere, nothing useful yet though. I Set one card face down and change my Meteor Dragon to attack position and attack your face down monster. Your turn."
Alexis nodded, drawing her card "I will set one card in face down defense position and end my turn, back to you Lydia"
"This duel is getting a bit annoying isn't it? I draw." Lydia smiled again, "Almost there... I set another card face down and attack your face down with Meteor Dragon. I end my turn after that."
Alexis smiled "You just destroyed my giant rat, now I can bring out a monster with 1500 or less attack from my deck to the field, and I bring out hercules beetle! and now I will draw..hmmm..I will switch beetle to defense mode and set 1 card face down, i end my turn"
"Come on now, attack me. Fight back, show me that you can! I can do nothing here and because my hand now exceeds the card limit I am forced to discard one card from my hand and end my turn."
Alexis smirked "I won't fall for the trap, im just waiting on the perfect moment, I draw, I'll activate the magic card red medicine and end my turn"
"I draw. Hmm let's shuffle my deck up a bit. I activate Thunder Dragon, sending it to the grave to add two more from my deck to my hand. I end my turn by discarding two cards to keep my hand at the limit."
Alexis looked through her hand "I draw! hmm..I'll set one card face down and end my turn"
At this point Lydia was getting fed up. Her opponent was hiding like a coward behind a near impervious wall of defense, forcing her to continue to discard monster to keep her hand within the legal limit. "I tribute one of my face down monsters and summon one of my Thunder Dragons in attack mode. I end my turn."
Alexis nodded "Okay then, I draw! "she looked at her card "I set one card face down and end my turn"
Meteor Dragon, attack the face down. Then I discard again and end my turn."
Alexis looked at the card she drew "Hmm...ill set a face down and end my turn"
Lydia gritted her teeth. "What are you waiting for? Are you trying to stall until my deck is empty?! is that what you want? Are you trying to take the easy way out? I activate Red Medicine, now my dragon will once again, destroy your face down monster and conclude my turn."
Alexis frowned "My poor rat...I won't use his effect, my rats have done enough for one duel, now I will draw...son of a....I set a card face down and end"
Lydia's eyes now practically shone with anger as she drew. "I activate Polymerization. Fusing my two Thunder Dragons into the Twin Headed Thunder Dragon. Now Twin Headed Dragon. Destroy that irritation of a cocoon. Be the harbinger of my victory. Meteor Dragon, Destroy the face down. I end my turn."
Alexis took a deep breath "I hope you know, im not out of this yet, I draw and I activate, de-spell! destroy the middle card! Now I activate! Shield and sword!! now I switch hercules beetle to attack mode and activate laser cannon armor! giving hercules beetle 2500 attack! more then your twin headed thunder dragon, now attack hercules beetle! and now I squip another laser cannon armor! and with that ill end my turn"
Lydia's eye twitched in annoyance at the destruction of one of her most powerful monsters. "I change my meteor Dragon to defense position and end my turn.."
Alexis was beaming "T-This is so much fun!" she said "I draw, I will set a monster facedown and have hercules beetle attack meteor dragon! and end my turn"
Lydia smirked. "I flip my face down monster Hane-Hane and return your beatle to your hand. Next I summon Lord of D. in attack position and finally. I activate Flute of Summoning Dragon and summon Tri-Horned Dragon! Now, Tri-Horned, Destroy the face down, Hane-hane and Lord of D will attack you Directly!. I end my turn now."
Alexis looked defeated "Well...I pushed you pretty good now didn't I, maybe learn to respect other duelists more, even if they aren't on the same level as you, I draw and set one card face down and put a monster in face down defense position.
Lydia took a deep breath and exhaled, ashamed of herself for letting her anger show. The coldness of her voice returning she drew, "You did not push me at all, merely stalled for as long as possible. I activate the Field Spell Mountain. Dragon, destroy the face down. Hane Hane and Lord of D attack you directly to conclude my turn."
Alexis smirked "Sure you can say that all you want, but mentally I pushed you, I may not have dealt alot of damage...but had I drawn one monster fifteen turns ago, I would have won, I draw, now I set one card and summon petit moth then equip it with cocoon of evolution, i end my turn"
Lydia shook her head, "No, no you wouldn't have. You yellows give yourself too much credit. I will change my Dragon Pipers to attack mode, they have no purpose now. You know the drill, Tri-horn destroy the monster, all the rest will attack you directly. I end my turn."
Alexis took a deep breath "And you blue's are too arrogant to realize your not the best in the world, I draw" looking at the card she laughed "Perfect moth, so you finally show up huh?..." placing her cards down she paces her hand on her deck "I concede, you win this time Lydia"
"Kohl is the only other blue who is even remotely respectable, the rest are no where near good enough to think they are 'the best.' I for one plan to see myself in my rightful dorm very soon." Lydia stepped off the Duel Ring "And for the record. I will win every time, not just this time."
Alexis took her deck and looked towards Lydia, smirking "Oh, we will see about that, in due time, Im gonna challenge you to a rematch...anyways...good duel" she said, curtsiing her.

"The honor of first move goes to you," said Daichi as he was looking at his hand.

"thank you, you probably shouldnt of done that, ill warn you now im pretty good! Draw! Alright ill summon the Harpie lady to the field! Now i will play the Elegent egotist magic card to special summon my harpie lady sisters to the field! But that isnt the only thing ill play the field spell Mountains! I think ive done enough this turn your move"

"I draw!" Daichi smirked at his hand and said, "What a way to start I see. I guess I might as well double up. For I use the spell card, Polymerization! With this spell, I fuse Giga-Tech Wolf and Cannon Soldier from my hand in order to call out a Fusion Monster." Behind Daichi was his metalic wolf and machine man which turned red and blue and swirled into a purple vortex. "Labyrinth Tank, standby for battle." The ground cracked beneath them and out from the ground came a giant purple tank and multiple red drills that spun around.

"What a way to start your first turn, but dont get your hopes up!"

"We shall see. I now give my tank the power of a spell card, 7 Completed!" A marking of three 7's came and imprinted onto the tank. "With 7 Completed, I can give a Machine monster I control 700 extra attack or defense points. As you can imagine, I'm going all in with attack." The Labyrinth Tank's ATL then sky rocketed from 2400 to 3100 from one card. "Now Labyrinth Tank. Make that bird into a shishkabob! Attack his Harpie Lady with Rocket Drill!" The tank then striked the bird and obliterated it. "I end my turn there."

"AGH" Caspar took a big amount of damage on his first turn "its not over yet! draw! hehehe told you not to get your hopes up! I play the Fissure magic card to destroy your Labyrinth Tank! No matter how strong your monster is it cant escape from Fissure! Now i will summon Bladefly! My Bladefly increases the attack and defense of wind monsters by 500! Thats not the only thing it also decreases earth monsters attack and defense by 400 points! Now i attack directly with harpie lady sisters and Bladefly! Now i set a card and end my turn! I warned you i was good"

Daichi drew his card and the smirk continued. "Well then, how about a taste of your own Medicine. I use Fissure to destroy your Bladefly. And I will use my own Red Medicine to recover 500 LP. Finally I set a monster and end my turn."

"Your going to have to do more than that to beat me! Draw! i summon the tyhone to the field! Now ill attack your facedown with Tyhone!

The Tyhone would soon see a stinger attack it. "Say hello to Steel Scorpion. When he is attacked by a non-Machine Type monster, that monster dies to the venom it holds."

ugh Tyhone isnt important anyway! Now go Harpie lady sister Attack with quill cascade! Now ill end my turn".

"I draw and set a monster facedown. I end my turn."

"Draw! i will play the magic card Shield and Sword with this all face-up monsters on the fields attack and defense are switched! This means my sisters now has 2300 attack and Tyhone has 1600! Now i normal summon Niwatori to the field! And thats not all! i attack your facedown with Tyhone then attack directly with my two monsters!

Daichi sighed. "And this is what I get for being ambitious. Good Game."

"Good game to you as well finnaly my first REAL duel at this academy
